TRUE CONFESSIONS I also wear bifocals. And of COURSE! You're right about the intransitive nature of think! Well done! I also think Wisam's explanation is correct--that the who's own verb takes priority. And yes-I'm using Fowler's Modern English Usage. Do I want the other? Are they completely different?
