Dear Tony:

Forget about Henry's joke about LGND. They haven't finished their first clinical II yet. First, LLY may have to do five more clinical IIs here in U.S. before they get into IIIs (multiple IIIs as well). I believe I read a post (maybe by Henry) that LLY will start the second trail II in 1999, as for NDA, go figure. Second, with the LLY deal, they pretty much took themself out of the diabetes drug picture. They will only get a royalty and have to share it with ANG. LGND has given up their long term diabetes potential (really longgggg term) to fund their other programs. It may be a smart move on their part as they do need a lot money now.
