Wiz, I suspect LU has been eating up a lot of the market that otherwise would be LSI's (or VLSI's). And they appear REALLY deep in product..I keep running into more every time I take a stroll through the SI...
I don't have any SVGI as of yet, but like what I see... have just grabbed some CYMI, as mentioned. There is a group of companies that is going to benefit, IMHO, from the increasing complexity of chips...and I am trying to identify the winners. LSI was the Big Lead on that list because of their CoreWare... but I'm not seeing the earnings growth that I was hoping for, at least not at the rate of improvement in growth that I want to see... So deferred a bit. DPMI was next down the list and has been super.. now SVGI and CYMI look like they fit... And LTXX, an "earnings chump" in the past, appears to have the test equipment (and earnings results- finally) that supports chip complexity..and making a move.. Am going to try to beef up the thinking on the complexity philosophy.
But don't throw CIEN out the window yet! They have a few tricks in the bag... But your point is well taken...the technological changes can be intimidating... TSO
