Que,

The reality will come when the practitioners of NO as a political strategy have to govern. I believe we are going to have to go through a further reality shock to get real change that we can believe in regarding domestic energy supply. The other aspect of the problem is with regards to our balance of payments. It will be impossible to have a strong dollar with the price of imported energy. We are hemorrhaging dollars for energy - and then the practitioners of NO complain about the weak dollar.

When they are forced to govern what has been a great strategy of trashing Bush policy for votes - will become a harsh reality for them to deal with. The price of their victory will be high.

We need to focus on educating the populace and letting them make informed decisions. Beyond that we need to figure out how to profit from the coming problems.

What I find missing also is a complete lack of understanding of the concept of transition. In engineering it is the concept of the time constant. One simply cannot jump from one reality to another. Attempts to slam the brakes and make a sharp turn are called train wrecks. That is what I fear is coming.
