Ericsson and Memotec(R) Enter Into Global Partnership - Ericsson to co-Market Memotec's CX Series of Data, Voice and Video Convergence Solutions
MARCH 16, 1999 MONTREAL, QUEBEC--Ericsson and Memotec Communications Inc. (Memotec) today announced a strategic global alliance agreement under which Ericsson's Enterprise Systems Unit will co-market Memotec's CX Series of Frame Relay access solutions with support for data, voice and video through its worldwide subsidiary organizations and distribution networks, spanning over 130 countries. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Ericsson's enterprise systems product line is complemented by Memotec's CX Series as Memotec's solutions provide Ericsson's product line with augmented data, voice and video convergence technologies, enabling Ericsson to expand their addressable markets and explore emerging opportunities. Ericsson is now able to offer to the market seamless transportation of total PBX functionality and related services - represented by the MD110 and Business Phone - over Frame Relay networks. Using evolving technologies Memotec's CX Series of multiservice access switches will enable the convergence of data, voice and video over packet- based and emerging cell-based networks for branch, regional and central sites.
