Sorry, but I have to disagree. Most people would learn from their mistakes, but there is still a significant number who just won't, can't, or can't afford the losses while they make their learning mistakes. There are kids I've taught while in grad school who don't know how to learn. All they can do is memorize. They do great in grade school, pretty good in high school, and can't understand why they are mediocre to awful in college. They eventually fail, because the amount of memorization increases exponentially if one doesn't learn the underlying principles. I'd rather teach a rock who learns, than try to teach a person imitating a disk drive. Tom
