Then your experience is significantly different than mine. Mine is that non-life-threatening cases are treated in order of arrival regardless of appearance. True life-threatening emergencies are inside the ER as quickly as possible regardless of appearance. And the diagnosis and treatment inside is not dependent on appearance. I think the docs on both sides of the border are smart enough to understand theres's a real person with relatives and friends under that skin regardless of its appearance.
