The ads in the SF Examiner weren't very nice to AMD this weekend. Intel outnumbered them probably 8 to 1. I know AMD wants to raise the bar, but not being able to compete with INTC's 500-600 Pentium from a price standpoint has hurt them. This makes me think Jozef's assumption that AMD could only produce 1.2MM Athlons is correct. Also explains why they didn't push them REAL hard from an advertising standpoint. Gotta get to Dresden, gotta get to Dresden, gotta get to Dresden!

Dave,

The problem may be that Intel is the only one with sufficient product in that speed range to warrant the cost of advertising.
