<<I honestly thought Obama was going to be the same way. I thought he was going to engage in a Manhattan Project on renewable energy, but he went timid on that. I thought he was going to be with the common man and get tough on derivatives regulation and prosecution of the banking criminals, but he turned out to be a panderer to Wall Street interests instead. He's gone soft in so many places, that I find him indistinguishable from the GOP in those places. Even his healthcare plan gave up too much to the GOP. Sheesh.>> We all thought that. My best guess is that he was just too green and thought he could get everyone to agree on things if he had the perfect solution. He didn't seem to realize the Republicans and wall Street were out to skin him alive and us with him. He campaigned as a reconstuctionist (which is what was needed), but governed as a technocrat.
