It is very simple. The love of money. It powers most things. Complacency rules. Polls show that more Americans feel like the economy is in a better position now than during 1999 and early 2000. We know what happened then. And it WILL happen again. Pride goes before a fall, and if you listen to the boasting and watch the chasing of anything that moves, there is little doubt that a HUGE spanking is very near. Will a catastrophe precipitate it? Probably. But then, this is America. She is so great that her people can afford to worship entertainment and pursue money at ALL costs. She can never fail. Three words they learned in ROME (and a lot of other unbreakable societies) -- Never say Never.
