I agree. Also, the moment their patents are filed, they can divulge anything they want regarding the technology. And I don't understand why people are so excited about the patent filings. Once filed, it will take 12-18 months for them to issue, if they issue at all. Furthermore it's impossible to say what level of protection they'll get from the patents, it all depends on how good their Patent Attorneys are. Bottom line? Don't rely on their yet-to-be-filed patents for any near-term impact on revenue.

The only possible exception to this is the following: they could choose to share their patent applications under non-disclosure with selected potential partners. If we see many big names line up to partner, we might assume that they've seen them and they're suitably impressed. But do NOT expect any other type of near-term direct impact from patent applications. The impact, if any at all, is over 12 months away.

I was also disturbed by their reluctance to disclose much of anything in that conference call.

Smoke and mirrors? Maybe. Maybe not. They way I believe we'll know is how much new info they divulge on the web site, what they are willing to say after patents are filed, and if we see any partnering.

And this doesn't even begin to address issues of how competitive and unknown this particular market is.
