There is an excellent analysis report re Apple's market share in 96. tidbits.com It seems that Apple clone did a pretty good sale and will continue doing so in the future. Apple will require a good new OS to re-gain its revenue and profit. If Apple new OS is excellent, then it is not surprising to see other big companys like Compaq or Dell entering MAC clone's market.
