Lisa:

Personally i am going to try to sell the January 7.5 calls for around 2.00 dollars that way theres no tax consequenses for 1997, and you get 7.5 dollars for every 4.0 dollars you invest 6-2=4.

Your analysis looked too good to be true. The Jan 7.5 calls traded today for 7/8.

Thus, your investment will be 6 - 7/8 = 5 1/8 for a cash flow of 7.5 if the stock price exceeds 7.5 by January. While this cuts the cost of a share to 5 1/8, you are forefeiting the price moves exceering 7.5. The downside risk is unchanged, only the upside potential is forefeited.

On the options, E*Trade charges $35 and 1.95 per contract. If I am convinced about options, I will try the rapidtrade -- thanks.
