I was wondering how Obama's audience for the town hall in Elkhart, Indiana was chosen; then he said himself that the audience and the questions weren't screened at all. Assuming that is correct, it is quite a change from Obama's predecessor.

When was the last time Bush spoke to anything but a pre-canned audience set up by the local Republican Party branch, much less took questions at random? Have to go back a long way, I would guess.

A critical question on Cabinet appointee tax problems drew boos, and Obama quieted the crowd saying it was a very legitimate question.

That is also quite a change.
