Re: "... but they have succeeded in killing about one soldier per day, which is more like gang violence than guerilla war."
BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! LOL!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Our losses in Vietnam were about 6,000 per year. Out of approximately 600,000 troops over there, it worked out to be a death rate of about 1% per year.
We now have 140,000 troops in country. A death rate of 365 per year turns out to be around 1/3 of the Vietnam rate.
Give them time. The Iraqis will eventually get the kill rate up to 3 per day, and this will equal our fatality rate in Vietnam. What will you call it then.
Re: "We have improved the quality of life for many Iraqis, in fact. I read a great article in the Washington Post about that recently."

Too bad that they took those arms home and are now using them on us.
Re: "It is well known that the Shi'ites were held hostage by a special concentration of Ba'athists, and as soon as that resistance had been broken, they did rise up. "

Funny that the Shiites just wiped out a British MP force of six men.
