Tech, there's not going to be an easy way out of this situation. For example, will the US accept another type Iranian government getting elected in Iraq?

I notice the US didn't do much when Algeria canceled its elections when it realized the Muslim population would win.

And how long can the US stay in Iraq? Right now, there's 5,000 Syrians who've entered Iraq to take potshots at Americans; Palestinians and Jordanians too.

So if Iraq becomes a scenario similar to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict--and it will!--and the nation of Jordan is squeezed in between, how long can Jordan hold out before its government becomes destabilized? And Egypt and Saudi Arabia as well? Contrary to Bush's public relations to convince the American people to support this war, those nations aren't going to go democratic if they're overthrown.

We're in a no-win situation. The Bush Administration seriously miscalculated and innocent people, including our own soldiers, are dying as a consequence.
