I disagree. Those two things are not analagous. You and I have a different perception of some things. You are not sure about unions and are much more a moderate. I htink th eword liberal sort of grates on you. But it is a different philosophy than libertarian or independent. It means a different social philosophy, so it is important to know what is what.

Over the last 50 years the right wing made liberal a dirty word. George Cloony said I tell everyone I am a liberal. Clinton ran in the middle because he was afraid of the word liberal. Krugman named his book "Conscience of a Liberal".

The country needs to realize the ideas are on the left and embrace it like they did under TR and FDR (progressive is the word they used). I have seen people over and over talk about how the right course is in the middle. I disagree, the middle is an illursion, IMO.
