I have put Win2K up on a DELL Inspirion, a Compaq Armada M300 (newest, with ACPI support) and a Compaq Armada 6500 (the old DEC HiNote, with no ACPI support). Standard stuff is all pretty easy but going outside the box is a little harder - some drivers are not there yet or are only available as beta versions. Still, I was happy enough with the results that I use them with Win2K, not Win98. Network connectivity is way better, Tunneling VPN is more robust. I had to update the ROM on the Armada M300 to get the ACPI to work correctly with the built in power management but newer laptops would have a compliant ACPI.
