I beleive when it does come out it will work satisfactory, unlike what DOCOMO is doing, just turning on a system full of bugs just too save face on a roll out date.
1X has no competition at the moment. GPRS sucks, and DOCOMO's WCDMA is coming out Oct 1 in it's naked chicken version, no advanced features(no feathers)just bare bones voice and limited data.
