Hi Josh,

I have a friend that is asking me about desktop computer components and I definitely think that you are much better qualified to answer his questions. I'll post it below and will send him your answer.

Thanks!

Reid

Hi Reid,

I'm building a new Linux computer, and wanted to see if you have any negative opinions about any of my chosen parts.

One component that I'm thinking of changing is the case. I have no need for 3.5 or 5.25-inch drive bays. I'm using M.2 storage, and this will be my first machine without a DVD/CD drive. Do you have any suggestions about a different type of case, considering that I don't need for the drive bays, but require great cooling? I've been thinking of this for a while. Cases need to radically change.

....and I definitely don't want the RGB flair that the gamer kiddies go for these days, with transparent side panels. LOL!

Regarding cooling, I had considered an after-market cooler to replace the stock cooler that comes with the AMD R9 3900X, but some experts on Tom's Hardware said it's not needed. The stock cooler will work great with the chip. Any thoughts?
