Sick Out Day Will Cost Racine Unified Taxpayers Nearly $500,000

Extra class day tacked onto the end of the school year means staff members will receive an extra day of pay.

The University of Wisconsin medical school is investigating for sanctions some of its doctors who gave government workers sick notes so they could attend protests at the state capitol.

According to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel:

The University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health said Tuesday that it will take disciplinary action against its physicians who wrote doctor excuse notes for protesters at the state Capitol during rallies in February.

The doctors face discipline ranging from a written reprimand to loss of pay and leadership position, the medical school said in a statement.

The medical school, however, would not say how many doctors were facing discipline.
