Michael, Here is the rest of the recruiting story.

Seven months ago, USAF had 381,407 folks. Their authorized strength for FY 2005 is 366,991. USAF strength is down seven consecutive months to 369, 289.
Army and USMC have reported recruiting shortages.
USAF and Navy like to brag about meeting recruiting goals. Well (That is a deep subject), It has to be a helluva lot easier to meet recruiting goals when you don't have to replace all the folks leaving. And let's not forget, not only do Army and USMC have to replace all their folks they have been charged with expanding their forces this year by 30,000 and 6,000 respectively.
Give that mission to Navy and USAF and let's compare apples to apples.
We will know the true story about Navy and USAF recruiting efficiency in the months after they finish paring down to their authorized strength. uw |
