I don't know. It sounds good but it also makes government bigger. The people who you create jobs for are incentivized to keep it going and opens up more avenues for abuse. Ultimately you want people off the dole and active in the private sector working. We have so many programs and each is supported by lots of people. Lots of these people in the government are helping people to become more dependent on government.

I was in a somewhat unique situation in that when I was first eligible for SS, my daughter was still in HS. I am divorced and paying child support as daughter lives with her mom. So I am on the phone with SS and they are asking me all these questions. The lady tells me that my daughter is eligible for SS. I say YGTBSM. So far just under two years, my ex got extra income so my daughter would stay in HS. I already had enough in an account to fund her college.
