Intel no longer commands fear

No one's scared of Intel Corp. (Nasdaq: INTC) anymore.

Not long ago, if the world's biggest chipmaker announced a major move in another market, every stock in that niche would take a pounding. But now? Level One is getting the expected bounce from yesterday's acquisition announcement, but there's no concurrent downward move for the likes of National Semiconductor Corp. (NYSE: NSM) or Broadcom Corp. (NYSE: BRCM), both of which are actually rising today. And Intel shares are actually down (chart) after getting an initial bounce.
