Maybe Mickie D's should consider touch pads for self service orders? First you pick your language, then you pick your food. Sort of like buying gas at the pump. Never even see, much less interact, with a human being.

I am a big fan of the self-service cash registers at stores. Need to get the kinks out, though. At Costco, I bought ten packs of bulbs with a coupon that is good for up to ten packs, but the stupid machine forces you to use one coupon per pack, so you have to tear off nine random strips of paper to put into the coupon hopper, one at a time!

I think the technology is fine, it's the people who set it up that are the problem.

No reason why we need to rely on a human being to take a drive thru order at a fast food joint.
