Thanks, Shalom. I don't know what to think of the dove incident either, but they are a tougher bird than I thought. They have a reputation for being peaceful (and they are peaceful, gentle birds - when it became still, it blessed my hand with a peaceful feeling) but I've many times seen an interesting sight: Ravens like to raid bird nests and eat baby birds, and I've seen both doves and sparrows chasing after ravens, swooping and diving at them, harassing them and chasing them away. As it says in Ecclesiastes, there is a time for peace and a time for war. Even among doves... John
