Tony and all Intel investors - Intel's devotion to Rambus has claimed another victim with the delay of Timna. For a conservative company, I believe they took a gamble on Rambus being ready for prime time and cheap to boot. Neither was true and they are paying the price. Rambus may eventually turn out to be just the ticket, but Intel's timing and execution have been awful. And I am certainly a long time holder (1983). This dunderheaded strategy will be studied in business schools for decades. They walked a high wire with a defective net. Thank goodness they are not a 1-mistake company. And they may have lucked out in freeing wafer starts to other products. But they will also let via sneak in the back door and that's no good either.
