My personal opinion is that right after Lucent announced their woes yet again with the expected charges and so on, that Roth (in is arrogance) wanted to pound his chest about the company he turned around. How it had great prospects. He probably should have done a little research.

Roth has NO CREDIBILITY........On the one hand, he says he does not follow the stock market, preferring instead to look at car magazines. However, NT went out of their way to reassure investors about their earnings.....A bit contradictory IMO......Also, Roth will make sure he gets another $100M or so irrespective of the stock performance. All in all this is a person who has no incentive to get up each day and go to work.
