Not after this one, I am sure.

In my two trips to the Middle East in 1997, my perception was that the Arabs did not believe that the American people would be willing to do what it takes to ensure their way of life. I remember repeatedly telling the people I met that while Islamic fundamentalism and cultural ideals are well documented, they should never underestimate the determination of the American people. They mostly scoffed at me at the time, but I told them that there are just as many Christian fundamentalists and defenders of freedom in the U.S., and they would not hesitate for one second to blow the Middle East into smithereens should there be cause.

I think at this time, we are seeing these sentiments echoed across the land.
