I think this situation is an example of COMPLACENCY. Its even worse then generally known. For example, he took that gun away from the deputy in the NEW COURTHOUSE, then instead of fleeing, he crossed over to the old courthouse where his court was located OBVIOUSLY looking for someone. Personally, I think it was the prosecuting attorney but instead found only the judge and the clerk. Why in the world he shot the clerk is a mystery to me, she was harmless to his trial. Everyone seems to feel the judge treated him very fairly so even that is a mystery. So, in the end, he failed to shoot anyone that he could reasonably blame for his situation even in a demented mind even though he obviously was hunting someone down.
Now, I agree he should have had more guards, her holster should have not been presented in a way he could grab the gun, it should have been the lockable type. One could go on and on but the bottom line is COMPLACENCY. I do not agree that EVERY PRISONER should be shackled in court because of this and I am certainly not a Liberal. jdn
