Did you read any responsible press reports about what actually happened here? Or are you just off and running with the right-wing lynching party?

A reporter, Michael Isikoff, was told by a senior U.S. government official that the story was true. The Pentagon reviewed the story before it went to press and did not challenge that part of the story. Any news organization would at that point believe it was okay to go to press. I don't know why this is so hard for everyone to understand.

What do you think Newsweek knew? That the senior U.S. government official was not giving them accurate information? How would they know that, if the Pentagon didn't challenge the story, either?
