Thanks for posting the Alsop article. The SD format, which now appears to be the standard for "other than Sony," deals with the copyright issue in an appropriate and efficient manner. With the likes of Panasonic, Hitachi, Toshiba, and Samsung in agreement on a different, and better way of copying music and other intellectual property, the Sony strategy doesn't look very promising. Oh, yes, Sony is a great marketing company, but it still reminds me more and more of GM, a company that some say is so big it can afford to make mistakes. GM doesn't let anyone down on that score. Neither will Sony, I do believe. |
