Presumably whoever it was--I don't remember and am too lazy to go upthread to look--who put out the "avoid" rating after the earnings release. Practically every financial house has a different ratings system (Briefing.com has an interesting list), and I assume that Zacks standardizes individual ratings to conform to "Strong Buy, Buy, Hold, Sell, Strong Sell".

Really: the industry itself should standardize. Some houses, for example, use only "Buy, Hold, and Sell", and so their "Buy" looks less enthusiastic than someone else's "Strong Buy", when it isn't necessarily. And so on.
