3Com leads the 56K(1) market with x2(TM) technology
3Com continues to lead the 56K(1) market with its end-to-end x2(TM) technology solutions and its commitment to standards. Several 3Com executives will be available at COMDEX to discuss 3Com's perspective and vision on the 56K(1) space, and where x2 56K(1) technology deployment currently stands. Also, 3Com will be discussing new x2 56K(1) products to be released at the show.

3Com Mobile Communications
3Com will introduce one of the world's first international x2 PC Card modems -- approved for use in more than 250 countries. 3Com Mobile Communications also will be offering COMDEX attendees a sneak preview of its upcoming LAN + Modem combination cards. 3Com will introduce Bigpicture(TM) TV Phone -- a simple videophone solution, enabling person-to-person videoconferencing using ordinary telephone and television equipment. Bigpicture TV Phone is a self-contained unit, including a powerful video communications processor (VCP) chip, a digital video camera and a high-performance analog modem. The Bigpicture Video Kit ships complete with a 30 fps video capture board, video/voice fax V.80 x2 upgradable modem, color video camera, suite of video communications and editing software.

3Com will showcase its recently announced OfficeConnect(R) Dual Analog router, a SOHO/high-end home user router that enables users to get near-ISDN speeds over analog lines.

3Com's OfficeConnect(R) LAN Modem
3Com's new ISDN SOHO router enables up to four users to simultaneously access the Internet or corporate network over a Basic Rate Interface (BRI) connection. The LAN Modem features IP routing; easy set-up and management via a built-in web browser; SPID wizard; network address translation; PAP and CHAP security; and more.

Additional 3Com Products to be Showcased at COMDEX
Managed PC Network Interface Card (NIC) Demo -- Bringing NetPC-like functionality to traditional PCs, 3Com will show COMDEX attendees how its enhanced NICs enable interoperability of Managed PCs with HP, Tivoli and ON Management. 3Com will have existing NT, NetWare and Unix services installing "clean PCs" and waking them up for midnight inventory, repairs or upgrades. Additionally, 3Com will show several unique end-to-end management features that are enabled by 3Com NICs, lowering total cost of PC ownership.
