I'll never forget driving that 87 miles in on that dirt road to McGruder from the Montana side. Or camping on the upper Selway and not seeing a soul for days, but being able to fish,(releasing them of course) and catching one on each cast. Or seeing the herd of deer that came through our camp being led by a stately buck, and seeing the osprey and its chicks in a nest perched in a high, old snag. Or the black bear on the Lewiston River fishing. And the odd sense that we were being watched by an ancient tribe from the tops of the basalt outcroppings.....being a bit romantic here......on our way into the wilderness. And feeling like I'd stepped back in time when we visited the old Lachsa Lodge. And the much needed bath at Lolo hot springs. -gg-

What a wonderful, wonderful adventure that was.

Did you see this video of Bud?
