If this is of any use: almost no work gets done here in August; everybody's away, no one buys anything except vacation souveniers. And although one always thinks that things will get underway again by September first, you might as well forget it till the fifteenth.

And: (as I well know) you wanna get PAID? You'll wait a minimum of 90 days ("i novanta giorni di attesa, sai"). And if they actually manage it within three months you've been extremely lucky.
