Re: "Great! Now 100 and 2 for 1 split coming?"

Comment: Don't know about the split, but $100 is on its way! An interesting valuation reference point is Altera which released earnings of $0.36 yesterday, $0.02 above street estimate. Altera is trading somewhere around $90 on one-third of AMD's Q1 earnings and probably a rosey going forward outlook but not as rosey as AMD's. This valuation anomaly is pretty much the norm when AMD is compared to any other company in its segment. At $150, AMD's comparative valuation would be a little more reasonable...Yesterday's spectacular earnings report should do much to narrow the "valuation gap" over the very near term...Further, although it's difficult to get a grip on the size of uninformed AMD investors, I doubt it exceeds 13 million, the record daily no. of AMD shares trade, which is likely to be surpassed today, which implies to me that AMD share supply could become very limited before the day is out resulting in a major AMD price revaluation...My guess is that AMD volumes will be well above average for the next week or so resulting in a valuation, as early as today and certainly within a week, much higher than the current $75!
