Geocities one of the strongest IPOs last year IPOed the day the market started to crash ..GeoCities lost $4.4 million during the quarter ended June 30, 1998, on revenues of $3.4 million. Geocities was part owned by CMGI the mother of all net integrators MP3.com is backed by Sequoia one of the main investors of Yahoo the mother of all internet stocks Investors pushe Geocities market cap to GeoCities' market cap to over $1 billion dollars when the market started a CORRECTION! And talk about negative press... Geocities was being investigated by the FTC for illegally giving out childrens personal information. Doesn't Geocities make most of it's money form advertising? Heck don't most TV shows make money from their advertisers? I don't know if MP3.Com will have the same fate as Geocities being bought out by a monster like Yahoo for Billions of dollars but i'mm pretty certain this will be one of the biggest screamers for ipos this year... Perhaps Priceline was a poor comparison
