To clarify: I don't have the link to the particular SEC filing handy, but as I recall, the AMD shares owned by Intel were in an employee retirement fund of which Intel is the trustee and not owned for Intel by Intel directly. I expect that AMD also has retirement funds for employees and that any such funds based on tech stocks or the S&P 500 have a healthy (or should I say, lethal?) dose of Intel shares as well. To me this is very different than Intel's portfolio of dot-coms.
