Biotech--Tularik, meltup!

Does not seem to be much of a biotech subthread
going on here, but I'll give it another stab...
if no interest, maybe I'll finally leave you
guys alone, I see from the initial description
of the thread that I'm way over the line of
what consitutes being on topic, but maybe you
will throw me a bone.

When I saw TLRK slide across the screen (slog
thru previous post) it was up eight bucks.
It closed up more than $15, a 79% gain on the day.

Can somebody explain to me just what the heck
is going on in this market--what creates that
sort of hype--I'm not privy to emails and
newsletters that hype biotechs--but that must be
what is happening here. What do you fellas think?
Can you help me figure who hyped TLRK today?

Oh yeah, I thought of giving up a little of
my Ariad, a "Signal Transduction" biotech to
snag some Tularik...I'm on pretty good terms
with a few of the biogurus here on SI, nobody
said to me 'dump all your aria and get in tlrk now'!

I'm watching stock after stock in biotech melt up
without me...it's a little discouraging to be familiar
with some of the names, decide not to buy in, and then
watch them rocket. A better question might be why am I
bothering you fellas? Well, I can see from the tone and
breadth of this thread that you folks are no dummies,
and it seems to me I'd do well to get some perspective
from other than the SI biotech threads on this matter.
