Brian posted Gartner's estimate for 90% fab utilization by 2004, 90% foundry by Q4 '03, 95% industry by Q4 '04 at the AMAT No Politics thread.

INTC announced that it would create silicon in support of 802.16a. This is wireless broadband with 30 mile range and 70 megabits per second transfer rate. Called WiMax, it is the next step after WiFi, 802.11x, and it is being pushed by INTC and Nokia. (There is a 4G thread that has few, but very interesting posts.)
