Talk about losing one's mind. I believe I asked if refusing treatment like Schivo's knowing it would lead to death was OK. I believe I recall it is OK by Catholic doctrine. I don't recall that the OK is qualified. But an individual has to express it. No third party or hearsay.

It's my understanding that the Church's doctrine and Florida law by past intrepretation have been in complete sync. It is the allowing of third party or hearsay to establish an individuals intent in the specific ambiguity of feeding tube as life support or life sustaining that is the issue.

This also is the key about creating an unacceptable form of assisted suicide that has very broad implications..
