Thanks for setting me straight re: the Barron's article. I did look up your post (Nov 22) and apologize for missing it. I didn't get around to reading my Barron's until Thursday! Day job, you know. But it's probably good nonetheless to remind everyone of how fragile the system really is. A wise and experienced option trader I know was long puts during the '87 crash, and he went to the clearing house or the broker (I forget which) in person on the next business day and got his money. Now I know why. Yes, and I am going to cover my short puts this AM, and just remain long the other side of the spread.
