One word describes it... Pandering It is these kinds of issues that show the split between those who refer to as "Eagles" and the social conservatives that run things now. An "Eagle" being someone who agrees with the Republicans on FA and fiscal, but is socially liberal. As the right takes over the country, it is normal for this kind of split to appear.
