I wouldn't hold my breath, though, since the people who are supposed to plug it are precisely the ones who benefit from it. And they could even use the maneuver to prevent passage! I figure the head of the Senate would do just that. It's a very small piece of power, but why toss it out. <LOL> I can live with that one. Maybe the US government really isn't all that bad. It's pretty darn good, IMO. I think it's a hell of a lot better than most of the conservatives on this thread think it is. Which is somewhat ironic. But citizens of this country still retain significant political rights and use them every day. There was one biggie that the Framers overlooked...I don't think they ever believed that the people would be disengaged from knowing what their government was doing. They knew that it might be difficult to separate the will of a faction from the will of the people, but it doesn't seem they thought that people wouldn't read the newspaper. My appreciation for our form of government continues to grow....though I'd like to tweak it some. <LOL> jttmab
