Jim - had I followed Sir John Templeton's advice, I would be tens of thousands of dollars poorer. Now I only use margin on quick trades, two months max - usually much less. I ALWAYS set my stop loss about 10% below purchase. I've caught the last few falling knifes by the handle, but my first few left scars.
