First OS/2 was never a stable product when it was introduced.

It took until V3 to get a stable product. They delayed getting there so long that MSFT owned the visual interface market by the time IBM got there with Windows.

That situation is not analogous with Novell's in which they have a stable product and market share but are perceived as having a legacy company mentality. They almost fulfilled their destiny in hiring the CEO of Wang?!!
