TBG -- I have to admit, your question has me stumpified. Why are men the designated bad guys? Cause that's the way the RULEZ work. I must admit that the RULEZ gave me trouble, too, in my premarital relationships, but I did not realize how severely troubling they were until after I was married (BTW, that's one of the RULEZ, men never know until it's too late to do anything cheaply!).

The RULEZ state also that whenever anything goes wrong, it is - by definition - the male's fault. No exceptions, no ifs, ands, or buts. NADA! Whatever the problem, we take the blame.

Another of the RULEZ that took me a long time to reconcile was that the male's responsibility is - again, by definition - anything which the female does not wish to do. Yucky insect removal, bathtub hair removal, inclement-weather-dog-walking, they're all ours.

There are, of course, many more RULEZ than can be efficiently (or safely) listed here. I'm sure that we could go on for days simply listing the basics, ignoring the codiciles and the temporal niceties.

But I am fascinated with the HISTORY of the RULEZ, and have thought long and hard (another of the RULEZ, if you haven't already guessed) (that one's for you, Alex!) upon this matter. I will expound upon this later...
