A Bullish thought: Lets say this quarter's estimates for 53, by most analysts. Most of the time, these are conservative estimates. Lets assume Asia didn't go to hell and everything is business as usual, there probably was a chance that Coms could have beaten estimates. Now reality says Asia went to hell and we have an inventory problem. Lets assume 3 com's other segments of business are growing pretty well. All of these downgrades are probably in anticipation of really bad numbers, due to Asia and Inventory problems. With no earnings warning yet, Coms might post an average number like 40 - 50 eps. This would beat all of these new downgrades. In turn maybe things aren't as bad as people are speculating. I hope this makes some sense, its just a hopeful thought.
