No, We strive to be more like Christ. We all fail miserably but with God's help we try. But the fact that we all fall short is why it is absolutely necessary that we all have a Savior. Our Savior shed his blood for our sins.
We are forgiven not because we are perfect. If we could be perfect we would not need forgiveness. No, we are forgiven because one died for us and we have trusted in Him. He is our savior. Without Him you have no savior. You will have to pay for your own sins.
